Hi. I'm glad you're here.

I help men, especially new dads, to sort it out, to make sense of it, to welcome it, to sit with it, to validate it, to express it, to process it, and to unburden it. Avoidance often creates additional stress. Joining you through the truth without blaming or shaming you helps build the therapeutic relationship you need to confidently turn towards vulnerability, promote your mental health, adjust to parenthood, and build more secure attachments.

A MALE PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST.

Advanced and specialized trainings in postpartum mental health, perinatal mood & anxiety disorders, and the psychology of men & masculinities guide my work to empower postpartum men and their partners in some of the most challenging, emotional, and relational times in life.

EMPOWERING MEN, NEW DADS, AND POSTPARTUM COUPLES.

Many men aren't the best help-seekers. If they do seek help, then many men don't typically receive the kinds of specialized care that they may actually need. My clinical work focuses on serving a variety of new dads because I believe that there are often too few community resources and supports available which also factor in fathers.

It's my pleasure, power, and privilege in doing what I can to promote parental mental health because it ripples.

These are the values of the National Association of Social Workers, which is the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world. As a NASW Member, I'm committed to the NASW Code of Ethics, and I believe in its values, principles, and standards, which guide social workers' everyday decision-making and professional conduct. From the beginning, I signed the Anti-Racist Small Business Pledge because it fits my values.

SOME MATT FACTS:

I'm an aspirational polyglot. I love the beautiful game and I'm a passionate shareholder of Manchester United Football Club. My superpowers are cooking meals, folding clothes, singing Disney songs, changing diapers, loading the dishwasher, and cherishing all of my time with my wife, our two sons, and our rescue dog.

I've been a therapist for the past decade. I earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2011 from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Social Work degree in 2013 from New York University Silver School of Social Work.

Parts of my time are dedicated to my professional affiliations and memberships with the National Association of Social Workers, the New York State Society for Clinical Social Work, Postpartum Support International, the Baltimore Perinatal Mental Health Professionals Study Group, and the American Psychological Association's Division 51 - Society for the Psychological Study of Men & Masculinities.
